Carla in BWN - Episode 14.2

Barbara is upset and ranting to Rita at home about Lavinia's behavior, promising to give her wayward daughter World War III. Rita asks Barbara about her new talent, Snow White.



Barbara says no one is interested in getting her, and Rita has to supress a smile at that statement.



But Barbara says her lack of success with Snow White is not going to stop her from wrecking Lavinia's career. After all, Barbara knows all of Lavinia's darkest secrets.



She orders Rita to call the Executive Producer of The Buzz and let them know that Barbara wants to be interviewed. Rita looks worried.

Jack is sitting in the living room of the condo when Rita rushes in and urges him to leave because they'll be late for rehearsals.



He asks her to wait first and motions to the couch, and only then does she notice that there's a guitar sitting there.



He tells her it's a gift. She thanks him and tells him he's so sweet and starts opening the guitar case.



She pulls out a beautiful guitar and excitedly asks him how he knew that's the kind of guitar she likes. Jack is happy to see how thrilled she is.



She continues to admire the guitar and at one point flips it over and sees "Jack heart Rita" on the back. She is surprised and at first doesn't know what to say.



Jack tells her he's wanted to tell her for the longest time, but that he didn't know how, so he figured he'd have it printed on the guitar.



When she doesn't say anything, he starts putting away the guitar, thinking that she's not interested. But she stops him and asks if he wants to hear her response.



Jack asks her if he'll like her answer. She turns away to hide the smile on her face and pretends to think about it for a while.



Finally she turns and slowly tells him that she thinks he will like her answer. Jack turns to look at her as the meaning of her words sink in.



Before he can react, she kisses him on the cheek, grabs the guitar and rushes off, saying they'll be late for practice.



In a daze, he follows after her slowly and asks if she can repeat her answer.

Jack and Rita arrive at rehearsals and Dorina congratulates them. Rita is surprised and behind her Jack waves his hands to stop Dorina from saying more.




Rita realizes that he's already spread the news, and pinches him. Jack feigns innocence.



Rita takes it in stride, and just smiles when Jack says Dorina is just congratulating them for finally arriving at rehearsals.

At Dorina and Lavinia's guesting, Lavinia and Rita come face to face backstage. Lavinia tells Rita she chose the wrong camp. She tells Rita that Barbara was right -- Rita is stupid. Rita is hurt but says nothing. She only looks at Lavinia with watery eyes, until Lavinia walks away.

Dorina and Lavinia have a joint guest appearance and perform a duet of "Dito Ba?"

During their performance, Dorina keeps coughing and has difficulty singing the song. She eventually walks off the stage.



The band tries to comfort Dorina as Lavinia triumphantly finishes the rest of the song with the stage all to herself.



After everyone else has left, Rita lingers for a moment to watch Lavinia as her sister continues to sing, before she finally turns to follow her bandmates.

Carla in BWN - Episode 14.1

Jack visits Rita at their new condo. He apologizes for not visiting earlier and explains that they've been busy preparing for Dorina's concert. He reveals that Jay and Chris are no longer in the band because they've been spying for Larry. He also says they need a guitarist and asks Rita if she'd be interested. Jack says Barbara would probably allow her to join now, since she's no longer mad at him.

Rita reminds him that she no longer has a guitar. He says he's got a spare guitar that he can lend her. Rita says her rejoining the band is complicated, and she doubts that Barbara will give her permission. Unknown to Rita, Barbara has come out of her bedroom in time to overhear the last part of their conversation.



Rita changes the subject and offers Jack something to eat. Barbara walks into the living room to ask what they were talking about. When Rita says it's nothing, Barbara asks if Rita wants to get her permission for something. Jack and Rita exchange worried looks. Jack hesitantly explains that he had invited Rita to play with the band again, assuming it was okay with Barbara. Barbara asks which band -- is it Dorina's? Jack says yes, but starts to say that he would understand if Barbara does not agree.

To their surprise, Barbara says she has no reason to not give her permission. She says this is Rita's dream, so she'll consent. Rita is ecstatic and runs to hug her mother. She doesn't notice the satisfied look on Barbara's face.

Lavinia is at home watching TV and catches one of Dorina's performances on the air. As the camera pans she sees Rita performing on stage as well.

As they leave the studio, Jack compliments Rita on how quickly she learned the piece that they played. She says they've already played it before at the mall, and that their review the night before really helped. Half-kidding, he asks if she'd like them to review it again tonight. She laughs.

As they walk along the studio corridor, they suddenly come face to face with Lavinia, who rushes at Rita and slaps her hard. She accuses Rita of not caring about her feelings, and about what people may say about their family. Crying, Rita tries to explain that she didn't join the band to hurt Lavinia.



Lavinia asks her why she did join the band. Is it for money? Angrily, Lavinia pulls out a wad of cash from her purse and throws it at Rita's face. She says if they need money, they should ask for money from her. She says she's used to supporting Rita and Barbara anyway. Lavinia walks off in anger leaving Rita crying as Jack stands behind her, not sure what to do.

Rita and Barbara are at home, and Barbara is angry that Lavinia dared to say she was supporting them before. Rita tries to placate her and says that Lavinia was merely angry. She tries to suggest that they patch things up with Lavinia. Barbara angrily says no, especially after the way Lavinia has embarrassed them in public. Barbara says Lavinia had better be prepared for her.

Natiyempuhan natin si Kat Alano sa shooting ng "First Day High," kung saan ang role niya’y isa sa tatlong sosing barkada ni Maja Salvador, the other two being Carla Humphries and Denise Laurel.

Worried naman si Carla sa sosi role na ginagampanan niya sa "First Day High." Kanang-kana kasi ang itsura niya kaya nahirapan siyang makuha ang approval ng masa.

But she worked on her Tagalog at isang araw ay ginulat niya ang lahat sa pagganap niya sa papel ng isang mahirap na dalagang may kapansanan pa. Pilantod siya sa isang episode ng "Maalaala Mo Kaya."

Sinundan ito ng sunod-sunod na guestings sa drama anthologies at sitcoms ng ABS-CBN.

Lalo siyang nakilala sa teleseryeng "Bituing Walang Ningning" na tinatampukan ni Sarah Geronimo. Nakata-tandang kapatid ni Angelica de la Cruz ang role ni Carla at sanda-makmak ding luha ang bumubuhos sa kanyang mga mata.

When this sosi role in "First Day High" came along, agad niyang tinanggap ito. Walang masamang tinapay siempre sa isang artistang gustong maabot ang kanyang pangarap.

Carla in BWN - Episode 13.3

Rita comes out of her bedroom at the new condo she and Barbara are staying at. She is puzzled because she can hear someone delivering a bad rendition of "Miss Na Miss Kita."



In the living room, she finds Barbara with a stranger, whom Barbara introduces as Whitney Snow, the niece of her former boss and singer Pepita Snow.



Barbara excitedly tells Rita that Whitney is her new talent. She talks about her plans to use the name Snow White as Whitney's stage name, which will be perfect after Whitney goes through some whitening treatments.

Rita pulls Barbara aside and asks if she really thinks Whitney is good enough for Barbara to pin her hopes on, especially since she's not a good singer. Rita suggests that she look for someone else. Barbara says she's actually been thinking of getting someone else to develop -- Rita!



She asks Rita if she's interested, and Rita advises her to focus on Whitney. Barbara accepts the decision, saying it only means that Rita isn't ready yet. Barbara returns to Whitney and continues to give her advice.



Rita watches them for a moment, then turns and leaves.
