Carla Humphries needs no love life for now

She opted to do something else, and be busy with work.

"I guess, mas okey yung ganoon, na nagbe-birthday ako habang nagtatrabaho. Ibig sabihin, I will have more work to do. Na yun lang naman ang gusto ko, habang hindi pa talaga nagpi-peak ang career ko," sabi pa ni Carla.

INVOLVED IN A TRIANGLE.

I'm not saying na batang-isip siya, pero he's still a kid for me.

NO LOVE LIFE. Kinumusta namin ang love life niya.

"I'm happy this way. Especially now, a year has added on to my life, mas gusto kong mag-concentrate muna sa career ko. Hindi naman sa ayoko nang makipagrelasyon uli sa isang taga-showbiz, pero mas gusto ko yung tahimik na muna ang buhay ko.

"Gusto ko yung wala munang ibang iniintindi. Trabaho lang. Enjoy rin ako sa ganito. Hindi ko hinahanap ang love life," aniya pa.

NOTHING WITH VICTOR. Kumusta na sila ni Victor Basa? Pinanood nga raw niya ang Coverboys show sa Music Museum, and personally, Victor thanked her.

"He made an effort to invite me, and I was there for him. Okey naman kami ni Victor, pero hindi talaga kami naging mag-on. As in, wala, kahit mutual understanding," at saka natawa si Carla.

In fact, nagkasama sila ni Victor sa isang recent episode ng Your Song, kung saan gumanap si Victor na gay, with Joross Gamboa.

"Before that, hindi na kami masyadong nagkikita ni Victor. After Abt Ur Luv, kanya-kanya na muna kami. Then, mayroong taping kami together, kaya we had the chance to talk kahit paano.

"Mas okey yung sa amin ni Victor na friends lang talaga, kaya hindi kami nagkasakitan. Mahirap kasi yung ganoon, makikipagrelasyon ka, and then, you'll hurt pa each other," pahayag pa niya.

Carla Humphries, John James Uy sit down for an intimate chat with the hosts on Boy & Kris's "Happy Together" episode last May 29. Kris asks John James what he gave Carla for her recent birthday, and the Cover Boys member divulges that as a surprise, he drew a painting of Carla. "I'm really glad you were born twenty years ago on this day and I'm really glad that i found you," John says to her.

Although they have been exclusively dating, the two lovebirds have yet to admit they are a couple officially. "I don't entertain suitors if im not interested. Hindi ko pinapaasa yung lalake. I take the time to get to know the person," Carla shares.

Fil-Am model-turned-actor John James tells the hosts why he had such a big crush on Carla. "The best thing about her is that she's very down-to-earth. She has alot of redeeming qualities. I'm also very grateful that she's taking the time to at least get to know me, he says.

They admit that enjoy eating out and watching movies, where they admittedly hold hands during the movie. "I'm very simple eh. There were times where he would take me to fancy restaurants, but I really have a nice time pag laidback lang kami," Carla adds.

When it comes to footing the bill, Carla believes that the guy shouldnt always have to be the one to pay. "I offer. I don't think it's fair naman especially since we're not yet together na lahat nalang (sa kanya). Siyempre dapat I have to give my share dahil ako din naman kumakain," she stresses.

An obviously lovestruck John James admits to the hosts how smitten he feels about the recently turned 20 year old actress. "I'm happy because maybe I came to the Philippines to meet Carla," he confesses. To which the young actress adds, "I'm happy when were together because you make it a point to make me feel like a princess. You treat me the way I feel I should be treated. Thank you for being kind to me and for being a good person and for loving my family like I love them."

Happy Together

Carla Humphries, John James Uy, Erich Gonzales, and Melissa Ricks were the guest celebrities in today's episode of Boy & Kris.

The episode is entitled "Happy Together."

Looks like they shot this episode on Carla's birthday, because Kris greeted her. When Kris asked John what his gift for Carla was, Carla covered her ears and closed her eyes while John tried to explain what the gift was.

Kris also prompted John to give Carla his birthday message.

Boy and Kris also tried to get the couple to talk about the status of their relationship. Carla said they're not officially together... yet.

Kris mentioned that John referred to Carla as his 'special someone' when they were taping an episode of Wheel of Fortune recently. They showed some scenes from that episode...

John says they're currently exclusively dating right now. John said he's grateful that Carla is taking the time to get to know him.

While John explained what it was about Carla that he appreciated, they showed these photos of her:

Kris asked the couple who pays when they're dining out. Carla says she offers to pay, and John says he only lets her pay once in a blue moon. Carla also says that while John sometimes takes her out on fancy dinners, she's happier when they're just laid back and relaxing.

Boy asked them if they hold hands, and Kris asked them to demonstrate.

Finally, they were each asked to complete the sentence: "I'm happy when we're together because..."

Carla said: "... you make it a point to treat me like a princess. You treat the way I feel I should be treated. You care for the people I care for most."

John said: "I'm happy because... maybe I came to the Philippines to meet Carla."

After turning 20 years old this May, Carla Humphries is saying goodbye to her teen years. But although she’s been doing more mature roles lately, she says she’s not about to go sexy anytime soon. “I’m not going sexy or anything. I’m just trying to be a versatile actress. I’m embracing my womanhood so I can’t always do teenybopper roles. I‘m just challenging myself,” she explains.

After her role as Stella in Palos, she moves on to play Precious, one of Roxanne Guinoo’s friends in Ligaw na Bulaklak. “Palos was a good experience for me kasi it was my first time na sumabak sa action. It’s all new kasi when I was on the set, it’s the middle of the night tapos makakatulog ka, tapos biglang maririnig mo yung barilan. It was more mature role for me kasi I played a doctor there. Even though I entered [the series] in the latter part, I had a lot of fun,” she recalls.

Aside from studying Entrepreneurship at the Center for International Education (CIE), Carla is also busy brushing up on her French with language classes at the Alliance Francaise de Manille in Makati City.

Although admittedly single, Carla says she and Cover Boys member John James Uy have gone out a few times. “I really feel blessed that someone thinks of me as special and everything’s going okay. I guess we’re still getting to know each other. Even if he’s from the States, he’s making an extra effort to [court me] the Filipino way. My family thinks he’s a very nice guy. I wouldn’t say we’re dating, but I’m accepting suitors. I’m the kind of girl that won’t entertain more than one suitor at a time kasi I don’t like making paasa,” she stresses.

Your Song: Without You

Carla appears in the final episode of this month's Your Song. The story is entitled Without You.

She plays Olive, the ex-girlfriend of John (Victor Basa), who unknown to him, gave birth to his son years ago after she left to go to the US. Unknown to Olive, John was falling in love with his neighbor Bob (Joross Gamboa).

This blogpost contains episode highlights for Olive.

----

Olive arrives at John's home with her son Jeremy, and introduces herself to Jen, who at first doesn't recognize her.

John comes home to the surprise of his life -- his ex-girlfriend Olive and their son, whom he'd known nothing about, were waiting for him in his living room.

His father and sister don't even try to hide their excitement about having a new addition to the family, as Olive nervously waits for John's reaction.

John learns that Olive hid the truth about his son upon her father's orders. Now that her father has passed away, she has decided to come home.

She confesses that she still loves him and asks him to forgive her. John pulls away from her and escapes having to respond to her declaration when he notices that Jeremy is missing.

They go out and see that Jeremy has found Bob, who is still outside John's house waiting in his car. Bob is stunned when John introduces him to Olive as his "neighbor" and says that Jeremy is his son, while Olive is his ex-girlfriend.

John cryptically tells Bob that they'll talk tomorrow, before walking Olive and Jeremy back into the house.

Olive later tells John that one of her aunts in Pampanga has agreed to take her and Jeremy in. She apologizes for having put him on the spot by coming back, and assures him that after she and Jeremy leave, she will not be bothering him again. She also tells him that she still loves him and kisses him on the cheek.

After agonizing over his choices, John decides to accept his responsibilities as a father. His family throws a party to celebrate his engagement to Olive. Bob is heartbroken and fantasizes about crashing the party and announcing to everyone that John is marrying him. Instead, he watches the festivities for a moment before leaving quietly.

That evening, Olive and John talk. John tells her he knows she went through a tough time when she was pregnant and said he should have been there for her. Olive replies that she shouldn't have left, then tries to kiss him, but John pulls away.

He tells her he doesn't want to love her again, but he feels that he has to. Although she is hurt, Olive tells him that she understands if he can't grow to love her again. She wipes her tears away and bids him goodnight.

In the show's epilogue, Bob philosophically narrates that happiness is a choice, and that people can choose to be happy with the choices that they've made.

John chose to stay with Olive and find happiness by fulfilling his responsibility as a parent and a spouse. Olive chose to be patient and wait for the day that John grows to love her again. For his part, Bob chose to be content with remaining John's friend, and becoming Jeremy's godfather.
