DID you know that before her family’s decision to stay in the Philippines for good in 1995, Carla Humphries and her family lived in the US and in France. Carla stayed for four years in the States and another four years in Paris. Within those eight years that they were abroad, Carla revealed that they would come home to the Philippines yearly for a vacation. And how they loved it.
Vacations usually were spent in Batangas, specifically in Nasugbu where her Lola Charito (real name: Rosario Apacible), the mother of her Mommy Tonette, served as Mayor. Her Lolo Conrado Apacible was governor of Batangas, too.
No wonder, that when her dad asked Carla and her siblings (she is second in a brood of four) where they would want to settle permanently, they all unanimously chose the Philippines.
"Itong pag-a-artista ko has been a dream from way, way back," she says of her decision to join showbiz, "Siguro nga, kung hindi kami nakauwi sa Pilipinas, I would audition for roles which would allow me to participate in stage plays abroad."
So far, Carla has appeared in bit roles in a few movies. She has guested in "Homeboy," "Wowowee" and "ASAP ’07." Currently, she’s in the cast of the series, "Abt Ur Luv," where she is paired with newcomer Victor Basa.
Carla turned 19 last May 20. To celebrate the occasion, she invited all her twenty co-stars in "Abt Ur Luv" to watch a movie. Later, she treated them to a blowout where they had the chance to bond till the wee hours of the morning.
She cried, she said, when each of her guests recited their special message for her.
