On the phone, Lavinia congratulates Oscar for a job well done and promises to give him a bonus. Rita brings food to the dining table, where Lavinia is seated, and asks her sister if she feels no pity at all for Dorina.
Lavinia smiles and asks how can she feel pity when this is what she's wanted for such a long time -- the fall of her rival.
Rita asks her if she cannot see that what she's doing is wrong?
Lavinia says Rita shouldn't complain... after all, this is good for her and Barbara too. When Lavinia's career picks up again, she'll have more projects and money will be rolling in again. They can finally pay for Barbara's treatments. Isn't that what Rita wants?
