Carla Humphries' debut was a glitzy affair that channeled vintage Hollywood glam
Last May 17, the Wack-Wack Clubhouse ballroom in Mandaluyong was transformed with the look and vibe of old Hollywood, exactly as debutante Carla (Madeleine) Humphries envisioned it. "I wanted it to be very classic, hindi yung bongga na OA, just simple and subtle. Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to be an actress and pangarap ko makapunta sa Hollywood, so this is kinda part of that dream," Carla says.
Even with just one month planning period, Carla and her mom managed to pull it all off. "My mom helped me a lot. We planned everything hanggang sa kiliit-liitan na detail pinakialaman namin, even the food. I made sure there was lechon. I love lechon and chicharon!" she gushes. Oh, did we say Hollywood?
The Wack-Wack ballroom was set up with two giant projection screens on both sides which showcased classic Hollywood movies all night and the entrance to the clubhouse was lined with vintage cars like Corvettes, a Thunderbird, and a Shelby GT 500.
Invitations were written in French and guests were asked to come in black and white outfits. Over 200 guests, both from showbiz and non showbiz graced the classy affair.
